Hello to you all in skerries RFC and yes it is me sending this e mail. . don,t know who posted the one thats there now,i,d never adimt to aggressive boot work, don,t even know what that means. First of all i was very sorry to read that sandy passed away.He worked hard to put Skerries rugby on the map at all levels,he will be badly missed.I,d just like to say hello to all my old team mates and i hope your all well. . Me? i live in New York now and as Eamon Coleman would say "and i,m very happy"anyway i wish all the current teams all the best in their current compititions and all the best in the future

I am sure mine will be one of hundreds of messages of condolence and regret at Sandy’s death. For as long as I can remember, Sandy has been the stalwart at SRFC. Those very early days of Gerry McMahon, Jack Murphy and Sandy getting the Colts up and running. What year was that? A lifetime ago. Indeed three lifetimes ago. His remarkable consistent support and enthusiasm for the club is only surpassed, in my memory at least, by his relentless pursuit, sometimes literally, of players to don the SRFC jersey and fill the XV whether it be in Skerries, Dunbar or some exotic local in deep and dark Towns Cup territory.
Man, when you look at the changes Sandy saw over his long years and the club, not to mention at the branch, all the work he did, seen and even more unseen, you have to marvel and admire!
God Rest You Sandy Heffernan
……and flights of angels lay thee to thy rest.

Congratulations to the under 16 boys, their coaches and managers and to their parents and supporters. What great honour they have brought to the club. I'm sure Conor will be "bebo'ing and facebooking" the lads to add his own congrats --- any chance of seeing a few captioned pix on the site??
Best of luck .

I would like to thank all that loooked after me on my visit during the World Cup and it was good to see the hospitality hasn't changed. Had a great time with Noel Smith, making sure I stayed out of trouble. Thanks to Roscoe for hosting me and hope to catch up with those that will be travelling to NZ in the future. Ah fair play lads, heads up and into it, Looks like myself and Dave will have to put up with PQ and his town cup tales for another year.

Well 'twas a long trek over the rugged terrain of the Curragh, then running the gauntlet through the gatekeepers who clearly learned their trade from the wild rapparees (ie stick-up men) who operated in that locality in centuries gone by. It was unfortunately not to be our year. But the welcome back in the club last night was awesome. And at least the poor oul goat survived - which is more than can be said for some of the players, judging by what I saw meeting up for breakfast this morning. Roll on next year...

Frank Glennon
Hard luck lads but congrats on a great run. Hold on to the hunger - well capable of going all the way next year.

Terry
Go well and put the effort in. Top achievers know that personal effort makes a difference. All the best from New Zealand ( Terry)

Best of luck on Sunday lads! You don’t get many days like this in a lifetime, make it one to remember and enjoy every minute of it.

Best of luck to Skerries this weekend!

Just to wish all the lads the best of luck for Sunday. To turn things around the way you have is a credit to everyone involved. Great to see the club back competing for silverware. I hope all the players and supporters enjoy the day and the towns cup is back in Holmpatrick come Sunday night.

Garrett O'Connor
Best wishes to the players, coaching staff, management and supporters, a fantastic achievement in getting to the final. Enjoy the day and bring the Cup back home to where it belongs! Where it all began......... Good luck!
