SKERRIES RFC GOES GLOBAL From today, Skerries RFC is taking the idea of home and away to new level by opening a special Overseas Membership category. It has been set up with the help of Niall Murray, now based in New York, and who has the honour of being our first Overseas Member. He sums the reasons up best: “Everyone that has come through the Club over the years has such great memories there, whether it was a team-mates you lined up with, matches played, matches watched or just the social aspect of the club, if you were a member or involved, you have nothing but a recollection of warm friendships and stories. “For the ex-pat, the Overseas Membership is a great way to maintain that warm connection and interest to both the club and the town. It’s more a statement that you never really left the Club and that any time you are back, you’re always welcome to shimmy up to the bar or the fireplace. That’s a feeling you can’t get just by checking in to the website.” For just €50, Goats in all corners of the world can now be a vital part of Skerries RFC, will receive the regular members' updates, the Club booklet and, of course, free entry into matches when they're home. If you’re overseas, or know someone who is, you can join online or through the Club’s standard form. We hope it will even make a thoughtful and easy gift to send to someone abroad this Christmas. We’ll be doing Where Are They Now? Q&As in coming weeks, and all ex-pats are free to step forward if you want to check in with home. We’d appreciate everyone’s help in spreading the news of this far and wide.
