Dear Members and Friends
It is my privilege and honour to be afforded the opportunity to serve as President of Skerries RFC for the coming season and I wish to extend my sincere thanks to Senior and Junior Vice Presidents Padraic Connolly and Maurice Cregan in accommodating same.
We commence our new rugby season in the strangest and most challenging circumstances. The Covid 19 pandemic has caused us all to rethink and restructure our lives in an unprecedented manner. We take a moment to remember family, friends and members that we lost to this dreadful disease.
Our Return to Rugby is not without its own unique challenges. I would like to acknowledge the immense amount of work that Mark Harrington has done, in recruiting his team of Covid Officers for each individual team, ensuring that we can commence training and matches within IRFU guidelines.
To all our teams, at all levels, gender and age groups, I wish you a very successful and injury free season. I would also like to thank the General Committee, coaches, referees, medical staff, match day doctors, physios, S & C coaches, match day stewards and all club members who volunteer their time in committing to the running of our club.
To our club sponsors, we continue to be grateful for your continued support. We could not operate without their generous and continued support and I would like to welcome our new 1st team sponsors, Progressive Credit Union. We look forward to building our relationship to the mutual benefit of all parties concerned.
I extend a warm Rockleyoke welcome to all club members, supporters, match officials and visiting teams and express my sincere gratitude for your continuing support.
I am proud and privileged to have been chosen as Club President and it is a great honour for me and my family to follow in the footsteps of some truly great presidents who have preceded me.
Yours in rugby,
