SuperValu Minis Under 6-12

    • Minis rugby is a cornerstone of Skerries Rugby Football Club. We have 250+ players every season, from Under 6 to Under 12. This number increases year on year, in what is a truly inclusive setting & sport, with girls & boys playing together up to U12.
    • The welfare & safety of the children will always be put first at Skerries Rugby Football Club.
    • Minis rugby is non-competitive, with the focus on participation & fun.
    • The season runs from 1st weekend in September thru to final weekend of following April. Registration takes place each August, but we encourage new players throughout the season. Talk to a team coach.
    • Each team has on average 7 coaches, = ratio of approx 1:5, coach to kids. This enables ease of managing all levels of kids confidence & experience. It also helps introducing kids who join mid-season.
    • All coaches are parents & volunteers, are Garda vetted & have the official coaching badges for their age grade. The club actively invest in coaches, paying costs of all coaching training. Coaches are encouraged to attend Club & Leinster run workshops & courses through the season.
    • Players must be registered to train and play, for insurance purposes.
    • Players must wear a gumshield, bring water and be suitably attired. Talk to coaches if any queries.
    • We do not stream in mini rugby at Skerries RFC. We adhere to Irish Rugby (IRFU) guidelines, believing that by not streaming, we retain much greater numbers of our players & help them develop onward into youth rugby.
    • All parents & supporters must follow our Club codes of conduct for parents & supporters. These are available on this website. Please always encourage & support in a positive & constructive manner.
    • Parents are invited to help. Volunteer to be a coach, or volunteer in any way during the season – ask a coach. This can be helping with post-game food / clean-up on Sunday mornings; A key part of the inclusivity in our club.
    • We join together as a group of kids, coaches & parents at various times in the season; For Leinster / Ireland matches, and when each minis team play as Half-time-Heroes at our senior 1st team AIL home games.
    • Any questions or concerns, ask any coach. All discussions are treated as confidential.
    • Our club Mini Coordinator is available at any time: Gavan Dungan 087-9888103.
    • Our club Child welfare Officer is available at any time: Andy Carabini 085-1000647.
    • Our gates are always open. We openly invite anyone to come in any Sunday morning in the minis season (10am – 12 noon), and see the club packed with kids & families truly enjoying themselves.
